Clucas Compared to Glenn Hoddle by Guardian Writer

The Guardian have published an article about the best and worst Premier League players according to their writers.

Ex-Hereford player Sam Clucas, now with Hull City, made the list.

Louise Taylor said: "There are other, far more obvious, candidates but placed in the context of Clucas’s achievement in ascending five rungs of the league ladder in successive seasons it has to be the left-footed midfielder.

"Impressive since being shifted from a wide role to central midfield this term, the intelligence of Clucas’s passing bears the hallmarks of Glenn Hoddle, who persuaded him not to give up the game before honing his skills at his football academy in Spain."

Clucas made 58 appearances for the Bulls between 2011 and 2013, moving to Mansfield for £20k.

After a stint with Chesterfield, Clucas then signed for Hull, for a figure thought to be in the region of £1.3m.
