Beadle Looks To Replace Willets

Hereford manager Peter Beadle has started to look for a replacement for Jamie Willets who has moved to Alvechurch.

Ryan Green is suspended for Tuesday evening's game against Larkhall but Beadle may not have signed anyone before that game kicks off.

"We're looking to bring one in now with Jamie gone," Beadle told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"It only leaves us with two natural centre-halves so our priority will be a center half over the next couple of days.

"If we can bring one in obviously as we saw on Tuesday night Jimmy Oates certainly filled that role particularily well so it's not a panic.

"We need to make sure we get the right player, with the right experience and the right mentality and the right character and the right quality.

"Centre-halves don't grow on trees so we'll have to work hard in the next couple of days to fine someone to come in and do that.

Hereford didn't have a game yesterday.

"It probably was a good time not to have a game. I think we did try to move the Larkhall game forward but they weren't interested in doing that which is fine.

"So we can play the game Tuesday and give the boys a bit of a break."

The squad trained yesterday morning.

"Maybe by Tuesday we can sign one. But, if not, Chris is still there and Jimmy would be available so we might have to have a different partnership in there as Ryan is suspended for Tuesday."

The club appealed against Green's ban.

"I spoke to the referee afterwards and how he saw it. We felt we had a case as there wasn't a huge amount of contact and there was an awful amount made of it.

"However the evidence we produced was inconclusive in the fact that there wasn't enough of it that would stand out. The camera angle was too far away and photographs are not the ideal thing. You want it to be moving pictures."
