Quarter Finals Next For U15's

After today's U15's 3-2 victory over Birmingham City in the Junior Premier League Cup, manager Liam Brewer spoke to BN.

Liam Brewer
Firstly a few words about the opposition.

"It's Birmingham City, they train and play alongside the acadamy at the main training ground in Birmingham, it's their shadow squad so players in the acadamy drop in and out," Brewer told BN.

"It's a bit similar to our under 18's with a development and a performance team.

"Looking at their form they had nine wins in their last ten games.

"Ours is eight wins and two losses so we're not far off that either.

"We played them last year and lost 10 - 0 first game, then we draw 2-2 late in the season."

What's next in this competition?

"We now go into the quarter finals. Looking at the set up of the Cup competition I think we will play North Somerset who haven't lost this season.

"It will be a bit of a challenge!

"But this is the best team I've ever had, or got together."

Today's Squad
As for the game?

"We built this game up for them, we knew we would have a few fans watching, we knew there would be a couple of directors from the club we're coming up to support them.

"They came out desperate to go, throwing themselves at everything. They are a physical team, they are an agressive team but also a very good footballing team.

"But you didn't really get to see much of that in the first half because they were still in that cloud of playing a big game here.

"Once they settled down, with a few changes as well, that's when they started to be quite dominant and kept hold of the ball a bit more.

"We could have lost that game but if we had we would have been extremely disappointed and would have felt we didn't deserve to."
