Absolutely Delighted Said UITC Chairman

Nic Vaughan, UITC chairman, said he was 'absolutely delighted' with the victory by the U15's over Birmingham at Victoria Park earlier today.

"Liam (Brewer) has got a fantastic collection of players in the U15's," Vaughan told BN.

"I think Birmimgham came here expecting a relatively easy ride but to come out 3-2 was absolutely fantastic."

The pitch and facilities at Victoria Park are very good for this level of football.

"We've got a five year lease agreed last May. We've invested nearly a five figure sum here upgrading the facility so as you can see today the pitch is absolutely superb and we've got a kitchen here that's done a roaring trade this morning.

"Really confident about this facility going forward with its soccer schools or the acadamy, this is a facility that will only get better."

UITC has recently been looking for new trustees.

"We've had a lot of interest from supporters and wider from people who want to join the board. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks we can make some new appointments.

"My colleagues, one of them is retired and the other has a full time job like myself, and as you know everything that's voluntary you've also got to dice things up between your job and your social life.

"It's a tough one, any charity or voluntary organisation will tell you that getting volunteers isn't easy but we've certainly done well this season with the resources we have got."

Financially it must be quite hard?

"Not at all. Today for example so many people through the gate, the kitchen has done very well and today we will have come out with a profit of £100 with the referees covered as well.

"The more people that come through the gate, just like Edgar Street but on a smaller scale, the better for UITC."

How much is Victoria Park used?

"This is used four days a week from nine to eleven by the under 18's with Jamie Pitman and Joel Edwards along our physio Jonny Evans.

"And it's used on match days, one or two matches.

"In an ideal world we would have some floodlights here but it is surrounded by houses.

"It would be nice to get them, we've had initial discussions with the local community.

"But at the moment we are concentrating on getting the pitch upgraded and the club house as well."

There was one incident that slightly spoilt the day for UITC as the visitors changing room door was damaged.

If there is anyone who could help with the repairs please get in touch with UITC.
