HUST Election Update

This from HUST:

Your Election Management Group is working hard to organise the forthcoming elections and would like to provide members with an update on progress.

The EMG has been provided with the current SD Model Election Policy which  will be used for the for the election process and which is available to all members upon request. The EMG has presented to the Board an election timetable, as follows:

w/c 30 Nov          Nominations open
w/c 11 Jan             Nominations close
w/c 25 Jan             Ballot papers sent
w/c 8 Feb               Voting closes
w/c 15 Feb             EGM and results

Exact dates for the timetable will be confirmed shortly.

The timetable seeks to strike a balance between the real and urgent need for HUST to get back to business, and the equally important need that each and every HUST member should be provided with the information and time required to reach a decision about whether they would like to stand for election to the HUST board, and which candidates they feel  deserve their support.

Any person who held adult membership of the trust on the date of this year’s AGM (17th September 2015), will be eligible, to vote, to nominate candidates or to stand for election. Trust membership runs from AGM to AGM so if you joined the trust as an adult member, or renewed your adult membership of the trust at any time between the 2014 AGM and the 2015 AGM you will be eligible to participate in the election.  If any member would like to confirm their eligibility to participate in the election please contact the EMG who will be happy to assist.

Formal notice of the election will be sent to all members shortly.

In order to keep costs down the EMG would like where possible to communicate with members by email.  We are currently in the process of setting up an email group for  members. If you have provided HUST with an email address you should either be added to the HUST EMG Group or invited to join it.   If the latter then please accept this as soon as possible to allow us to communicate directly with you.   If you and and another HUST member are sharing an email address then we will need a unique email address for each member.

Alvechurch Manager Worried About The Weather

With two matches postponed in three days Alvechurch manager Ian Long is getting worried about the weather.

He's concerned that his team's game at Stourport Swifts could be called off next Saturday as the Swift's ground is close to the River Severn.

"You don't want games called off because it's disruptive and means you have more games to play later," Long told the Droitwich Advertiser.

"It's something we are used to from our time at Tividale.

"Stourport play by the River Severn so there's a danger that game could be off too.

"But we'll make sure we prepare as if the game is on.

"All we can do if games are off is to make sure we train really well and stay sharp.

Should the game at Stourport be postponed their next fixture is at Westfields on December 8th. Perhaps a few Hereford FC supporters might swell the crowd that evening.

Dean Smith Appointed Brentford Manager

Smith, Dean.jpgFormer Hereford United player Dean Smith has been appointed manager of Brentford.

His current assistant at Walsall, former Hereford United coach and manager Richard O'Kelly, is moving with him

"We believe Dean is exactly the authentic and strong leader we need to take Brentford forward," co-director Rasmus Ankersen said.

Walsall have paid compensation for the pair.

As a player, Smith moved to Edgar Street from Walsall in 1994 for a fee of £75,000, a club record for Hereford United. He left after the club was relegated from the Football League in 1997.

League Cup Match Moved To January

The planned December 15th home game against the winners of Coventry Sphinx and Alvechurch in the Midland League Cup has been moved to Tuesday, January 5th.

Following the postponement of tonight's match between the pair, they will now try again on December 14th, pushing our home tie into 2016.

Kick off will be 7.45pm.

Wait And See For Hereford FC

Hereford FC will have to wait a little longer to see who they will play in the next round of the Midland League Cup as tonight's game between Coventry Sphink and Alvechurch has been postponed.

The pitch is waterlogged.

Alvechurch have a midweek fixture next Tuesday at Westfields. This might have to be postponed to allow the Cup game at Coventry Sphink to take place.

Otherwise the next round tie between Hereford FC and the winners of tonight's postponed tie set for Tuesday December 15th looks in doubt.

Week Off For Hereford FC

Hereford FC are without a game until next Saturday when they take on Bromyard in the HFA Cup.

Given that manager Peter Beadle has said he will select members of the squad who haven't had much playing time lately for the game, it should mean that for some players their next game will be on December 12th when Hereford play Brocton in the FA Vase.

By that time Beadle will hope that he will have a fully fit squad to select from.

At present Adam Page, Joel Edwards and Ryan Green are all suffering with injury problems and Pablo Haysham has been unwell.

With the current wet weather set to continue today, that's another reason Beadle will be pleased there is no midweek game. Edgar Street had some work done on it last week and remains quite tender. So keeping off the pitch as much as possible when it's wet can only help.  At present indications are that it might be a bit drier for next Saturday' game.

Meanwhile Brocton have elected to have a replay of the Vase game should it finish level at Edgar Street. This would take place on December 15th, the evening which has been set aside for the Midland Cup game between Hereford and the winners of the Coventry Sphink v Alvechurch tie which is set to take place this evening if ground conditions allow.

Finally tickets for both the home games against Bromyard and Brocton are available on line at http://www.herefordfc.co.uk/tickets/

Brocton tickets will also be available at the club tomorrow.

News Round-Up

Alvechurch midfielder Dimitri Dunkley has joined Division One side Heath Hayes. The youngster rejoined the Church in August after 24 games for them last year, but failed to register a first team appearance this season. Woking's Board say they have not received a request to sanction a transfer of shares despite discussions over the sale of the majority shareholding. The Board have to agree to the change as per the club's rules.

Marlon Jackson has rejoined Oxford City following his release from Tranmere. The 24 year old spent last season with the National South side before joining Tranmere in August. Kidderminster have appointed Supporters Trust board member Dave Pountney to their Board as their new Managing Director. He had become Commercial Manager of the club in the summer.

Bundu Runs Rings Around Coleshill Captain

Hereford FC's Mustapha Bundu showed why he is rated so highly yesterday afternoon at Coleshill.

As our pictures show he gave the Coleshill captain, Rob Evans, the run around on several occasions.

The first three pictures, taken minutes after the kick-off and were a sign of what was to come from the youngster.

They Don't Care Who They Are Playing Said Beadle

It's two Cup games next for Hereford FC but manager Peter Beadle feels at present the players don't mind who the opposition is.

"I just think that the lads are so enjoying their football right now that they don't care who they are playing and what competition they just get on and turn up and play the games and are throughly enjoying it," said Beadle.

"Hopefully that will continue for a little while longer.

"It hasn't happened by luck for us to win twenty games on the bounce, it's come from pure hard work from the players.

"They've been excellent with their attitude and the way they apply themselves and they are now getting the plaudits for it.

"But they do know what the long term goal is which is to finish the season on top of the pile and that's going to take another big effort, a large amount of hard work between now and the end of the season."

Early Goals Were Perfect Said Beadle

Hereford FC scored twice early in this afternoon's game at Coleshill and manager Peter Beadle thought they helped settle the game.

"After the game they gave us (at Edgar Street) they were ready to go today," said Beadle.

"So the goals in the first ten, twelve minutes were perfect for us, gave us a great footing in the game.

"And then after that you looked for us to kick on and maybe snatch a couple more but it wasn't quite to be.

"The wind probably favoured us a bit second half but even then we knew we couldn't take our foot off the pedal because the way they play, with the side they've got, and the quality they had from set pieces it was always going to be tough if they got a goal back in the game earlier in the half but it wasn't to be.

"Even at 3-0 they were not going to throw the towel in, they are too experienced for that.

"Even at 3-1 with twelve minutes to go the game was still not over then so the fourth one was just nice to kill it off and kill them off a little bit really when they had worked so hard to get them back into the game."

The conditions were horrible, wind, rain and cold.

"The worse one for any players is wind, the rain you can deal with, but wind is hard to play in. It was quite strong first half but it wasn't going end to end, it was coming across at a bit of an angle but we played into it first half and when we play on this surface the wind gets taken out of it with the way that we play."

First Half Pictures From Coleshill

Not the best day for taking pictures with heavy rain and the poorest lights at any ground Hereford have been to this season.

Really Pleased With Performance Said Beadle

After this afternoon's 4-1 win at Coleshill, Hereford FC Peter Beadle spoke to the press.

"Really pleased, it was a really good performance," said Beadle.

"We had spoken about the 3G pitch here and it certainly is condusive to the way we want to play.

"It's fast, it's slick and I think the boys throughly enjoyed playing on it.

"I thought some of our play today was excellent.

"We train on this surface anyway so we knew what we were coming to.

"Obviously they do vary a little bit but not a huge amount.

"So when we trained this week, we trained on 3G knowing that this would be the sort of surface we would be coming to and on this pitch as you'll have seen today if your pass is maybe half a yard not on the mark it causes a problem because of trying to adjust your feet and the surface is so fast.

"It suits so because of the players we've got and the way we play, the faster the surface the better.

"The players were ready for it and looking forward to it.

"Most of the group here now were part of the first game when we played them at home, and although we played well the result wasn't great.

"So it was important that we set a marker down to make amends for the last game and also continue this run."

Joel Edwards and Ryan Green were substituted because of injuries.

Ryan Green

"Ryan was more a precaution, he just felt his hamstring a little bit but nothing too serious.

Joel Edwards Was Tackled
And When He Got Up It Appeared He Had Hurt His Left Shoulder
"Joel, we'll see how he is over the next 48 hours. It's a shoulder or jarring injury, landing again. That's the downside of playing on this pitch is that they are quite firm underneath. He's just jarred his shoulder a little bit so hopefully in 48 or 72 hours it will calm down and the movement will start to come back and he should be fine."

Three other players were missing from the squad.

"Adam Page is injured. He's got this foot injury at the moment which is persistent. Cheltenham are looking after him.

"Pablo Haysham is ill so he could not be here.

"Nathan Hughes he's away at a funeral. Family reasons which are more important than football.

"It's the way things happen but we've come and again we've shown the depth of the squad we've got. Those three are missing but we've still got Max, Dylan, Tony, Sirdic and Carlos all waiting to come on, all quality players which just shows the depth we've got."

Hereford make it 20 on the bounce

Handshake Time
Hereford FC made it 20 wins on the bounce with a convincing 4-1 away victory at Coleshill Town on a wet and windy 3G pitch. An own goal by Rob Evans got the ball rolling, before John Mills nodded in from close-range. Mustaphu Bundu scored the pick of the goals just before the break, before the hosts pulled one back through Ricardo Reid. Mills however had the final say, stroking in from six yards to add some gloss to the result.

Both Adam Page and Pablo Haysham missed out through injury, so there were starts on either wing for Joe Tumelty and Bundu. The hosts boasted an impressive home record, having won their previous six, whilst Hereford had won their past eight away games on the bounce. In fact, the last time Hereford recorded a defeat was against Coleshill, when they were victorious at Edgar Street in August, winning a thriller 5-4.

Coleshill started brightly with a long-range effort pushed away by Harvey Rivers in the opening exchanges. Bundu showed some neat touches and forced the first-save from the home ‘keeper after gliding past his marker on the left-wing.

The opening goal of the game came following good work from Mills. He latched onto a threaded ball down the right wing and dazzled the intentions of the covering defender,  Rob Evans, before delivering a cross to the back-post where the right-back, under pressure from Mike Symons flicked the ball into his own net.
Mike Symons Pressure Resulted In Hereford's First Goal
Soon after, Hereford were two up courtesy of Mills. It started with the leading marksman on the half-way line as his pass found Bundu. The Hartbury college student waltzed past three men, and inside the box, leaving the ‘keeper and right-back on the floor, but he couldn’t fix his feet to fire home; the ball though broke to Tumelty and his powerful cross across the box deflected up to Mills, who headed in from two yards.
John Mills Nodded The Ball Past The Keeper For Hereford's Second
Coleshill looked to regain a foothold in the game but they were largely left to shots from outside the box and Rivers wasn’t troubled. At the other end, Mills flicked over at the front-post following good work from Tumelty, and just before half-time, Bundu had all but sealed the match. He linked up with Mills on the edge of the box, before dragging the ball past his man and firing in off the inside of the post, with the outside of his boot.
Mustapha Bundu With Hereford's Third
Peter Beadle’s men had all but sealed the three points going into the second-period but still threatened to add further goals. Bundu again was involved, superbly nutmegging the right-back inside the area and cutting back for Symons, who had a left-foot shot blocked by the ‘keeper’s legs. Joel Edwards landed awkwardly on his shoulder and was replaced by Dylan Bonella. Coleshill missed a good opportunity at the far post, their attacker heading over after a long boot forward was nodded back across goal. Rivers had to be on hand to make some smart stops as the hosts threatened down the right wing.
With Tumelty and Bundu making way for Max Kontic-Coveney and Anthony Robbins, Beadle looked to sure up the midfield but Coleshill gave themselves a fighting chance when Reid controlled a pass in the box and swept past Rivers to make it 3-1. Yet it was Hereford who finished proceedings with the final goal with three minutes of normal time remaining. A hooked pass over the back-line released Symons, who composed himself inside the area to pull back to Mills and the striker grabbed his second by slotting into the corner.
On a blustery afternoon in Warwickshire, it could have proven to be a tough afternoon for Hereford but having coming out of the blocks quickly, the game was pretty much over after 13 minutes when Mills made it two. Once again, the strength in depth has been evident and there was quality across the pitch. Bundu was a handful throughout the game, showing confidence on the ball and taking his goal well and it would be hard to look further than him for man of the match. With Edwards picking up an injury, and Ryan Green failing to finish the game with a tight hamstring, Beadle will be pleased to have a free mid-week, and next weekend presents an opportunity to give fringe players a run out, when Bromyard visit Edgar Street in the Herefordshire Senior Cup. The next league match is not until the 19th December, when Lye Town host Hereford.
Hereford: Rivers, Oates, Green, Willets, Edwards (Bonella), Tumelty (Robbins), Purdie, Birch, Bundu (Kontic-Coveney), Mills, Symonds.
