Halifax have issued a winding up petition against Northwich Victoria.
The notice has been published in the London Gazette (link) having been issued on May 20th. No announcement has yet been made by either club over the petition.
Northwich Victoria have carried on despite a series of financial issues that stretch back ten years. A large proportion of their fanbase quit the club in 2012 to set up their own side after owner Jim Rushe relocated the homeless club to Stafford, although the Vics currently play at Witton Albion's Wincham Park - just 500 yards from the Victoria Stadium home ground they were evicted from in 2012.
The new Northwich 1874 club play in Step 5 of the NLS, one below the Vics, averaging just over 300 attendances in the league to the Vics' 116.
