Ledbury Town To Close After Debt Shock

Ledbury Town have announced their imminent closure after their Chairman revealed they had amassed significant debt.

The 122 year old New Street outfit had withdrawn their senior side from the West Midlands Regional League earlier in the season after a disastrous start, but will now see their reserves and Colts close down at the end of the season with little funding to continue.

An emergency players meeting was told that the club needed money on Monday morning (January 5th) to cover overdue rent and tax bills, with the debt only revealed by the committee to the players and coaching staff on Sunday night.

The two remaining sides say they will continue to the end of the season after striking a deal with the ground owner.
