News Round-Up


Darlington 1883 have announced plans to develop the rugby stadium in the town. Plans were submitted this week for the Blackwell Meadows site to be enlarged with additional car parking and an enlarged clubhouse, and works to the existing site to bring it up to FA standards so that the reformed club can move back to the town for next season. They currently groundshare at Bishop Auckland after reforming in 2012.

St Neots have announced the departure of club captain Gavin Hoyte, who has chosen to move to Biggleswade after finding his first team chances limited. Former Bulls forward Ryan Bowman says he wants to net more than 20 goals this season. The Torquay striker netted 19 times for the Bulls two years ago but now wants to become the first Gull to break the 20 goal barrier since fellow ex-Bull Tim Sills in 2007/8.

Forest Green fans have called for the side to remain in the town of Nailsworth after owner Dale Vince unveiled plans to build a new stadium in Stonehouse. Vince plans to develop a large eco-park just off the M5 to house his Ecotricity headquarters and a new stadium within the next five years.
