10 Men Downed At Chippenham

Hereford United With 'New'Away Kit
Hereford United were reduced to ten men for the second game running as they lost 2-1 at Chippenham Town in tonight's Southern League Premier match.

Three changes were made to Saturday's side with full back Paul Mahony dropped completely, Delroy Gordon out due to his loan ending, and Gary O'Neill pushed down to the bench. There was no sign again of Harry Agombar. However Sam Bobes-Gilroy who was red-carded last Saturday kept his place in the starting eleven.

Hereford started brightly but Chippenham were soon able to contain the visitors undoubted pace.

Defender Jon Beeden opened the scoring in the second half for the home side shortly after Josh Oyibo was dismissed for a reckless challenge. Bilal Yafai netted with a deflected drive from all of 20 yards but Alex Ferguson pounced on a rebound from the woodwork to put the home side ahead for the win in front of 314 spectators which included about 35 following the Bulls.

Bilal Yafai
As the players left the field scorer Yafai looked visibly upset. A row then erupted in the players tunnel.

Although Chippenham scored twice, a mention for Hereford keeper Luke Williams who gave another commanding performance between the sticks.

'Owner' Tommy Agombar was at the game and spoke to several supporters. Also watching was chairman Andy Lonsdale.

Hereford United: Williams, Onyeike, Roberts, Oyibo, Gascoigne, Barrientos (O’Reilly 61), Traore, Bobes-Gilroy, Akinde (Kone 64), Yafai, Hawker (O’Neil 74). Subs not used: Fortune-Tomlinson, Jivanda.

Hereford remain in 16th position with 12 points from 12 games.

Meanwhile Saturday's opponents Bideford were defeated 5-1 at Burnham. Kaebamba scored all five goals for the home side.

Finally here's a report on the game from the Wiltshire Times.

CHIPPENHAM finally overcame stubborn resistance from Hereford United, who after being reduced to ten men quickly fell behind only to level with a fluke equaliser.
A goal five minutes from time from substitute Alex Ferguson gave the Bluebirds a deserved three points.
However, with Hereford facing a winding-up order at the end of this month, those hard-earned three points might yet be expunged.
In the first half, the benefit of full-time training showed as the young Bulls team, containing players from afar afield as Spain, Holland and Jamaica, were quick to close the Bluebirds down whilst counter-attacking with some swift passing moves.
In the opening half, the Bluebirds started by forcing three fruitless corners but rarely threatened keeper Luke Williams, with Jon Beeden and Jordan Roberts both failing to hit the target.
Hereford fared little better although Obi Oneyeike did force Kent Kauppinen into a save from a 20-yard free kick.
With Saturday’s goal scoring hero Omar Simpson nursing a dislocated shoulder, Chippenham’s injury jinx struck again as the half came to a close as Roberts had to leave the field with a head injury to be replaced after the break by Ferguson.
The Bluebirds started the second period brighter as Matt Jones saw his opportunist shot from 25 yards just go wide and Williams used his body to rebuff an effort from Darren Edwards.
The match changed on 54 minutes when Joshua Oyibo, who had already appeared fortunate to escape a caution on two separate occasions, was shown a straight red card for a high tackle on Conor McCormack.
Chippenham wasted little time in taking advantage as three minutes later Ferguson laid the ball back to an inrushing Beeden whose low shot from the edge of the area saw him score his debut goal for the Bluebirds.
The visitors clawed their way back into the match on 64 minutes when Bilal Yafai’s 30-yard shot took a deflection off a home defender and looped over Kauppinen’s head.
Jones then saw his initial and follow up shot blocked, whilst Hereford substitute Aboubakar Kone forced Kauppinen into a save.
The winning goal came five minutes from time when substitute Luke Ballinger’s shot hit a post and Ferguson converted the loose ball.

Chippenham Oldest Club In South West

Hereford United travel to Chippenham Town tonight for a Southern League Premier match.

It is a game between two sides struggling for form. The hosts have won two FA Cup matches 1-0, but are five games without a win in the league after a strong start of four wins in five. Much of their problems are down to injuries in their small squad, including veteran ex-Torquay, Plymouth, and Exeter striker Lee Phillips.

Jon Taylor's side have won only one in four including dipping out of two cup competitions to lower graded sides. Wholesale changes to each starting XI have not helped, but there are few clues from the club as to why these changes are made for each game.

Chippenham, who call themselves the oldest club in the South West, having been founded in 1873, lie two points above their visitors having played a game less with the Bluebirds still on FA Cup duty.

Meanwhile, the club are selling a limited range of branded training kit through an online shop in association with Bideford based MJM Sports. The company provides shops for other Southern League sides including Histon, Poole, and Truro.

Club "Making Every Effort" To Address Safety Issues

Hereford United met with the local Safety Advisory Group today over the capacity at Edgar Street.

The club last tweeted on September 4th that it hoped to have increased the capacity 'before the next home game' which was on September 20th. However the 1,000 capacity limit remains in place, with the club issuing a statement this afternoon.

The following is from Hereford United:

Following a meeting held today between the Safety Advisory Group (SAG) and representatives of Hereford United, the following statement has been released:

Hereford United Football Club is working towards increasing the capacity of the ground. The SAG is satisfied with the Club’s safety at present and will consider the capacity increase once further information is submitted.

The Club will be providing detailed information in support of this request and will be making every effort to address comprehensively any issues raised by the SAG.

This is an important spectator issue and we hope for a decision in the next couple of weeks.

Council Revise Figures Owed By Club But No Comms

Herefordshire Council say that the figure actually owed by the club is smaller than previously reported - but they still have not received any communication from the club.

The £65,000 total previously reported in now approximately £60,000 with £12,000 deferred until next year.

This from Herefordshire Council:

As part of joining the winding up petition against Hereford United Football Club (1939) Limited, Herefordshire Council has to provide up to date financial figures relating to the amount owed by the club.

The outstanding amount provided to the winding up order is just over £48,000.  This includes rent and rates of nearly £36,000 and legal costs of over £12,000.  Additional legal costs of the same amount will also be due next summer, which will take the total outstanding amount to approximately £60,000.

In regards to the council statement issued on Monday 15 September, the council is yet to receive any communication from the club.

TV Protest At Kiddy To Go Ahead

The planned protest at next Wednesday's televised Conference game between Kidderminster and Welling will go ahead.

Kidderminster's board agreed the move yesterday but had to wait for safety approval which came this lunchtime. Bulls fans will be accommodated in the away (South) terrace.

Further details will be published soon.

Lonsdale: Wages Paid Today "To My Knowledge"

Andy Lonsdale has told one fan that wages will be paid today as far as he is aware, suggesting the Club Chairman is not part of the payment process.

In response to a question, the fan got a single line reply: "They are being paid today to my knowledge"

Responses from Lonsdale have dried up considerably from the initial barrage of answers. Several fans are reporting that their queries are going unanswered. One such wrote a second email after the first failed to elicit a response:

Good afternoon

I am slightly concerned that I have not received an acknowledgment to my e-mail of yesterday, but can understand that you have probably received a good deal of correspondence from other concerned Hereford United supporters. I can also see that I offered little in the way of dialogue-more an expression of where I see things at present.

So, with that in mind, can I raise the following issues:
1. It is accepted that the current staff are still waiting for salary payments-I understand that you have received confirmation from the club's accountants that this will be resolved today. It would certainly demonstrate the current board's bona fides if it could be confirmed that this has now been completed. Can you assist?
2. Have the previous employees now received all outstanding payments and tax documentation? It may well be that a number of former employees have been prejudiced by not being provided with their P45s as this will impact on their current tax liabilities
3. Can you please confirm who's decision it was to limit capacity at Edgar Street to 1000. The club's or the Local Authority? And what steps are being taken to increase that capacity (recognizing that no gate this season has come close to reaching that capacity). Are contingency plans in place in the event that an accommodation is met with those fans currently boycotting the club
4. Are the current playing staff employed by Hereford United (1939) Limited? Does Mark Ellis have any role at the club? Are any players connected to his agencies?
5. Are you at liberty to confirm that the bond sought by the Conference Board could be drawn down to discharge debts to football creditors as at June 2014. In other words that the much discussed £350K was not "dead money" for 12 months but was purely to be deposited to ensure debts to football creditors were met.
6. It is understood that you have loaned the club the funds to resolve the claims of Martin Foyle and Andy Porter. Can you confirm that that loan has been taken by the club in accordance with its Articles of Association as it appears that firstly it would further increase the Limited Company's debt (whilst subject to ongoing winding up proceedings) and secondly it was made at a time when the Club lacked a quorate of 3 Directors.

I look forward to your response

Regards

Lonsdale: Foyle Payment Was Loan

Hereford United chairman Andy Lonsdale has confirmed he is now a creditor of the club.

Lonsdale told fans in an official club statement three weeks ago that he had paid the settlement to Martin Foyle and Andy Porter:

Where did the money come from the pay Martin Foyle?
The money to pay Martin Foyle and Andy Porter was paid by me as I truly believe in the future of the club.

He has now confirmed to a fan, in his ongoing responses to his new andy@herefordunited.co.uk email address, that this money was handed over in the form of a loan to the club.

Fans Await Wage Payment News

Despite assurances on Sunday that wages would be paid at Edgar Street today, there has been no confirmation that it has happened.

Staff were expecting a double dose of money after being promised payment for both August and September to be paid on Monday, however there has been silence from the club over the matter.

Several former staff contacted Bulls News on Monday to see if the payments would extend to them, with sums still owed to dozens of former players and staff from last season. Many say they have attempted to contact the club without reply over the past few weeks.

Herefordshire Council say they will issue a statement on Tuesday about the club's debt to the Council. A statement was announced to be due Monday afternoon but was delayed.

The Council did however confirm that the rubbish that had piled up at the back of the Blackfriars End had been cleared. Reports to Bulls News suggested that over 100 black bags of rubbish had built up alongside overflowing bins, but these have all now been cleared after the Council threatened enforcement action.

Proposal For Fans Reunited Day At Hereford

Chris Webb is the President of Plymouth Argyle and has been watching what's been happening at Hereford United with great interest.

Hi there.
My name is Chris and for my sins I am the President of the greatest team in the World (although I am sure a few Bulls fans will disagree), Plymouth Argyle.

Some of you may be aware that in 2011, Argyle were in administration and nearly fell out of the Football League and more importantly came within millimetres of liquidation.

We, like you were able to unite the supporters behind the Fans’ Trust and a fundraising Organisation named The Green Taverners. We raised thousands of pounds to support the unpaid staff and players whilst creating a hostile, passionate and innovative campaign that ultimately saved Argyle.
We did many of the same things that I am sure your Trust is undertaking – Putting pressure on the media, using social media, coordinating activity via fans forums, match day protests (although hard given the boycott, I know) and ultimately threatening to legally and peacefully picket the properties of the main characters involved in the administration.

Eventually. After 10 long, hard and bitter months a local man, James Brent stepped forward and saved the Club.

The purpose of my post is to highlight what was a key moment. Towards the end of administration, A Fans Reunited event was organised by Brighton (An Argyle fan originally started Fans United to help save Brighton in the 90s). Hundreds of supporters from Clubs across the UK came to Plymouth for a day that anyone present will never forget. We held a big fans meeting followed by the game, which Argyle won. That Unity and solidarity will stay with Argyle fans forever. Pompey and other Clubs have also seen fans reunited days held for them.

For me, though, no plight is as desperate as your own. I have always seen Hereford as a proper Football Club. A Football League Club. I know how much Argyle means to me. I know therefore how much the Bulls mean to you. Players, Managers and Boards come and go. Hereford United is alive because whilst its fans via the Trust keep faith then it never dies.

I would very much like to work with your trust and organise a Fans Reunited day for Hereford. We could perhaps have a big supporters meeting, march to the ground and then protest outside the gates at 3pm on the day of a match.

Football isn’t about players on £200,000 a week it is about normal working people standing on the terraces at Edgar Street spending their hard earned money supporting a Club that means everything to them.

Let’s get this idea off the ground (I have already written about in a Plymouth paper) and lets contact every Club in the land. Hereford United cannot die and Football needs to show it cares. I look forward to hearing for your Trust. You can follow bits I am doing for you on twitter @Chris_Webb1

Bulls Fans Launch First 'Tweeting Car Park'

Over the last nine years Bulls News has raised money for Macmillan Cancer Support by running a car park at Hay Festival.

This year the car park gained valuable publicity after two of the 'team' launched what is thought to be the world's first 'Tweeting car park'.

Ben Jones and Brian Goodwin were recently interviewed by 'Transport Xtra'.

The team behind the ‘Tweeting’ car park that has raised nearly £200,000 for the Macmillan Cancer charity at the annual Hay-on-Wye literature festival have now launched a national events parking company. Ben Jones and Brian Goodwin founded the CarParkAt service after managing parking at the Hay Festival of Literature and the Arts largest official car park for nearly a decade.

Next year will be the tenth anniversary of our involvement at Hay managing the largest official car park at the festival. “The car park at Hay has been a huge success,” says Ben Jones. “We are also delighted to have raised nearly £200,000 for MacMillan Cancer Support over the years, including £22,000 for the charity this year. Between £3.50 and £4 of the £5 parking fee goes to the charity, depending on our costs year on year.”

In 2012 the team founded what it thinks is possibly the world’s first ‘Tweeting car park’ at the Hay Festival. “The social media stream has been a resounding success, boosting visitor numbers and improving our customer’s parking experience. Over 50,000 cars have parked with us so far,” reports Jones. “Our Twitter account @CarParkAtHay gained 700 followers over the course of the 2014 festival and has been a fantastic insight into how our operations are being received.”

The Tweeting car park soon established a character for the operation, as the team posted shots of themselves greeting authors, meeting book lovers, resting in unusual places and, above all, mud.

“There is the hilarity that goes on in the car park, which is all part of the festival fun. We saw some superb car park ‘selfie’ efforts this year, whilst some people at the festival really do opt for fashion over function, particularly when wet weather and mud is around! One lucky lady wearing extremely inappropriate footwear was delighted to make a small donation to MacMillan Cancer Support in exchange for a fireman’s lift back to her car. Another happy customer!”

Social media also provided valuable information on operations and generated plenty of new ideas, says Brian Goodwin (see panel). “Here at CarParkAt we are always trying to think of new ways to improve our parking experience. Got a suggestion? Tweet us @CarParkAtHay,” the pair say.

Besides its flagship operation at Hay, CarParkAt already operates small car parks at other events such as the Ludlow Food Festival. The growing interest in their approach means that Goodwin and Jones have decided to offer their talents to other event organisers. The pair believe there is a need for more professional management in the events sector.

“The decision to enhance our involvement in event parking was brought on for two reasons,” says Goodwin. “First, a love of events themselves. Outdoor events and festivals are such a fantastic part of the British summer. It is something we have always enjoyed being a part of. Secondly, event parking is a field where negative experiences are all too commonplace.

“We identified the need to modernise event parking, through a focus on customer service. We feel we can make a huge difference to events in a way that hasn't really been considered before. By providing festival-goers with a great experience at the first point of contact; in the car park.”

Jones and Goodwin say event parking has to be a bespoke service, individually tailored to suit each occasion and site. CarParkAt will plan and run public, disabled, park & ride and VIP parking areas. “We will undertake an initial consultation during which we take into account a number of factors including the length of the event and the number of visitors predicted. Upon completion of the consultation we prepare a parking proposal and quote, ensuring that fees are agreed long before the event takes place.”

The pair intend to maintain a very hands-on approach. ”We are available 24 hours a day to ensure our car parks are running smoothly,” they say. The CarParkAt team will comprise people who they have worked with regularly. “Our current pool of staff has worked with us for between three and nine years and all buy into what we are doing. Our team is very important to us, without them we wouldn’t be able to deliver the level of service we do.”

Jones and Goodwin have launched www.CarParkAt.com to showcases their service. “Initially, our focus will remain on outdoor events,” they say. “We still have plenty of scope for growth in the festival market. In the future, who knows? Keep an eye on our Twitter page @CarParkAt to find out what events we will be at in 2015.”

News Round-Up

Plymouth have been handed a loan to the tune of £800,000 by the local council to cover debts at Home Park. The loan, which will be used to pay off debts from it's period of Administration, has been secured on land the club's shareholders own that is destined to be used for development of a new grandstand and retail park at the stadium, with the Council receiving interest over the five year period.

Nuneaton chief executive Ian Neale was reportedly arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning after allegations of an assault at a charity evening at Coventry's Ricoh Arena. Neale, who sold the majority shareholding of the club in the summer, resigned his position on Sunday.

Portsmouth have announced that they have cleared their legacy debt ahead of schedule. The Portsmouth Supporters Trust took over the club in April 2013 and was due to clear the £7m debt by July 2016. The clearance has been made possible with a string of early settlement deals with all former players and some other clubs.

Lonsdale - Staff Are Being Paid Today

Hereford United chairman Andy Lonsdale has told a number of fans that the club's staff will be paid today.

In responses to emails to his new andy@herefordunited.co.uk address, Lonsdale says that the staff will be paid today with players and staff having been promised a 'double' month of wages after not being paid for August's work.

He also tells people that the Council have agreed that the amount owed to them is not correct, but will be paid in the next two weeks, despite the Council saying they have had no contact with the club at all just a few days ago.

Lonsdale also assures that HMRC will be paid, and it is only the constant additions to the winding-up petitions that is causing a delay to payment. The winding-up petition is due back in Court in three weeks time.

He adds that Philip Gambrill, who was banned from acting in a manner that could influence the club after his failure of the Owners and Directors Test, remains as the club's Accountant and that he is still struggling to get correct information from the club's former payroll firm - a claim already disputed by former staff and the firm itself.

In several responses given to fans by Lonsdale he is insistent that a new investor will be unveiled soon and that they are not leaving the club.

We will await news of payments hitting bank accounts today and report accordingly.

Guinan Back For Fans Team Game Sunday

Steve Guinan is the latest to confirm his participation in the next HUST Fans Team game against Walsall Legends next Sunday (October 5th).

The club's record Conference goalscorer will line up alongside Cory Williams, who opened his goalscoring account with Conf South side Weston Super Mare at the weekend, Tyler Weir, Scott Goodwin, and Matt Gardiner.

Ex-Bulls Andy Reece and Mark Taylor will also feature for the Walsall Legends side, and Walsall organiser Steve Davies has also asked Dean Smith and Richard O'Kelly to take part and is awaiting a response.

The game kicks off at 2pm at Old School Lane, home of Pegasus Juniors. Entry is £2 adults and £1 for kids.

The HUST membership table will be in the club bar for membership renewals, plus new members and merchandise sales.

St Neots Axe Abbey Brothers From Managerial Posts

St Neots have axed joint manager Zema Abbey and assistant Nathan Abbey, leaving the other joint manager Gary King in sole charge of the side.

King had been joint boss with the older Abbey brother for the year, with the club third in the Southern League Premier table after a 3-1 win at Arlesey - King's former club - yesterday.

Chairman Mike Kearns said, in a club statement: "I have come to this decision regardless of our decent playing record this season. I have been very uncomfortable with certain aspects of the first team management and I believed that a change had to be made."

Questions To Lonsdale

Hereford United chairman Andy Lonsdale has taken the unusual step of asking for questions to be sent to him about how to 'turn the club around'.

The request was posted on the recently restarted Vital Football site, with the article asking for comments to be sent to andy@herefordunited.co.uk being posted at 2am this morning.

Bulls News has received the following, sent to Andy Lonsdale, for publication:

Dear Mr Lonsdale,

I have seen the request on the Vital Hereford site to submit ideas to you on how to turn the club around. My suggestion is very simple -

Do what has been promised.

Since you, Mr Agombar and company have arrived at the club much has been promised but very little delivered. I was one of the people that met Mr Agombar at the plant sale at the ground on the weekend of the Conference AGM where he assured us he would put the necessary money in. That turned out to be a lie.

You have gone on record many times to say that wages would be paid to last season's staff, yet they remain unpaid and without P45's that enable them to be paid properly in their new jobs. Is that fair?
Even the new staff are now leaving without payment, with the latest promise being for Monday to be a double payment month. Is that going to happen?
You have promised the Council it's money, on several occasions. Even they doubt you will now.
You have repeatedly told fans the capacity at Edgar Street will be restored to it's correct level - this has not happened.

It is clear to me that the club is hemorrhaging money, and you - as Chairman - are now the figurehead to take the blame regardless of who is actually in control. You have spoken of new investment 'more than enough to settle the winding up petition' and a 'blue-chip' sponsor without appearance of either, and you have made consistent promises of improving communication when it has actually gotten worse. The club's official website has had just two articles placed on it in the last two weeks, and the squad list still only shows a handful of players when over thirty have been used.
Indeed, the request for this email has come through a third party website - and one that has only recently restarted and probably the least viewed with the official site, Bulls News, and Bulls Banter all more popular. Hardly conducive to good communication?

How do you expect fans to 'buy-in' to the HUFC dream if they are not given even the most basic of information?

In summary, I make the following points:

  • Pay the staff, current and former, in full and give them their correct payment documentation
  • Clear the Council debt - or accept their offer
  • Clear the winding up petition
  • The club speaks to fans - on a daily basis - through the official site and other media to tell them what is happening

If you cannot manage that, then your only option is to walk away.

Sincerely,

Andy Munsley.

Staff Await Payment News

With promises having been made to pay staff two months wages on September 29th, tomorrow, former staff continue to confirm they are owed sums.

Former stadium maintenance man Paul Harris has confirmed he is owed £1800 - outstanding since he left in June. Sarah Tranter, who had been cooking for the players through the summer, says she is owed four months pay.

The news comes in addition to the £2,500 owed to former receptionist Chelsea Corner, while several of last season's youth side are still owed sums with some not having received a penny for over six months. Other former staff are also owed four figure sums, while their P45's still have not been issued.

It is understood that as many as 100 current and former staff are still owed money by the club and that the Southern League have refuted claims that they still hold money on behalf of the club when approached by former staff over the past few weeks.

One current player, who declined to be named, told a source close to Bulls News that the players were relying on relatives to pay basic bills while they waited for payment. Some of the players, who are all publicly classed as full time footballers, are on less than £100 a week.

Neither Tommy Agombar nor son Harry were at yesterday's game, while Directors John Edwards and Elke Thuerlings were also again absent - claimed again to be away on business.

Current staff have been told that a new investor is incoming and will meet pay demands - however there was no sign of such an investor at yesterday's game and staff remain in the dark as to whether they will be paid or not.

Fans Aim To Attract National Coverage At Aggborough

Last night it was suggested on the Bulls Banter forum that Hereford United supporters turn out in force at Kidderminster Harriers home game against Welling. The game kicks off at 7:45pm on Wednesday 8 October and has been been chosen to be broadcast live by BT Sport.

Supporters are encouraged to attend this fixture to gain much needed media attention, to show support to Harriers and as a statement to Tommy and co.

A number of fans have already shown their intent to attend on the Hereford forums. BN tried to gauge people's views on Twitter:
@stewlinnane: @Milward1989 @BullsNewsBlog bring it on. If Kiddy ok with it then it could work. #WeWantOurClubBack
@mattyrowe__: @MattQuinn75 @BullsNewsBlog @Milward1989 the away end is split by that metal fence, maybe we could have one half?
@KHFC_FansTeam: @BullsNewsBlog As long as it's a peaceful protest then I can't see why KHFC wouldn't embrace it. Could give you half away end. #fansunited

Hereford's supporter team with their Kidderminster counterparts earlier this month. Hereford lost the game 2-0.

As of 10:24 this morning there has been no official response from Harriers, but with the club announcing the other week that finances were tight, a few extra souls would surely be more than welcome.

Due to there being no return trains to Hereford, calls have been made for a coach to be organised, but as yet, nothing has materialised.

Admission for the game is expected to be £14 for adults (£17 seated), over 60s, 16-18 and students £8 (£11), u16s £5 (£8) and under 5s free of charge.

The game has been chosen by fans as a great chance for the cause to gain some much needed national coverage. Supporters thinking of attending this fixture are, as always, asked to remain peaceful and supportive and to follow all the usual rules and regulations whilst inside Aggborough.

Hereford United do not have a fixture on the same night, but they are due to play Corby Town at home on Tuesday 7th.

See you at Aggborough on Wednesday 8th.

Andy Williams scored for Swindon as they won at Barnsley. Matt Done scored twice as they won at Leyton Orient. James Baxendale scored against his former club as Walsall beat Doncaster.

Ryan Bowman scored for Torquay, but Rod McDonald scored for Telford as they won the game 4-3. Chris Bush scored with a deflected free kick as Welling won at Altrincham. Dan Hanford debuted for Carlisle with a clean sheet as they beat Tranmere for their first win of the season.

Marley Watkins scored for Inverness but they lost at Aberdeen to drop to third in the SPL table.

In the FA Cup Cory Williams scored and Jake Harris netted twice for Weston Super Mare as they beat Banbury.

Attendances just keep on falling

With just 323 ‘supporters’ going through the turnstiles to watch Hereford United lose 2-0 to Hungerford Town, it is the fourth game in a row that the attendance has fallen. Today's attendance is another record low for the Bulls, and numbers through the gates have already halved since the 2-1 bank holiday loss to Redditch United.

Supporters are querying how any of those 323 that went today actually paid. This morning, Sunshine Radio reported to have having spoken to manager Jon Taylor who had a family ticket (2 adults, 2 children) up for grabs, but it’s unknown how many other complimentary tickets the club handed out. It has been suggested that the figure must have included all the staff present at Edgar Street this afternoon.

There was also no Twitter coverage of the game from the official account, and the club’s Facebook page has been inactive since the June 7th - 3 days before the club was expelled from the Conference.

Considering the freebies and free entry for u14s, with just 23 days left until the next high court appearance, supporters are still in the dark about the so-called investment that Andy Lonsdale reported to be ‘there’ on September 1st (link). The lack of news does leave everyone wondering whether the court will see reason to adjourn the case once again, or if the club has now miraculously received funds to settle the winding-up petition.

Another aspect that was meant to bear fruit after September 1st was a sponsor for the team's kit, but along with the news that the club’s social media side was going to improve and the development of an online shop, over a month after the Q&A was posted (link), it’s evident that these were just more lies that has come out of the club during the current regime’s reign.

Did Hereford United Field An Ineligible Player Today?

Questions have been raised whether Hereford United fielded Paul Mahony today without him being eligible to play.

Mahony last played for Hereford United 28 days ago today - in the loss to Burnham - before joining Westfields on loan the following week and debuting for them on September 6th - 21 days ago. The loan was described by Jon Taylor as being a 28 day loan - the minimum term allowed for a short term loan deal - meaning he should still have been eligible to play for Westfields today and not at Edgar Street.

The FA's standardised rules state:

6.6.2 Short Term Loan Transfers – A Club can have up to a maximum of twelve (12) Short Term Loans during a Playing Season. The minimum period of a Short Term Loan transfer must be twenty-eight (28) days with a maximum of ninety-three (93) days in any one Playing Season.

Players other than goalkeepers may not be recalled within the first month, i.e. 28 days, of any loan.

Unlike other Leagues, the Southern League do not publish their specific rulebook on their website, but they are understood to be running the standardised rules.

Bobes-Gilroy Off As Hungerford Win

Sam Bobes-Gilroy Sees Red After He Pushed Grace-Parsons In The Face Following A Foul
Hereford United lost 2-0 to Hungerford Town in today's Southern League Premier match at Edgar Street.

Manager Jon Taylor recalled most of the starting eleven after the defeat by Cinderford in mid-week.

Jon Boardman opened the scoring after just two minutes, and James Pilling hit the second from a free kick after Sam Bobes-Gilroy was sent off for slapping his opponent after a challenge.

This was a poor performance by Taylor's team who came up against a more experienced side.

Hereford remain in 16th position in the table with 12 points from 11 games.

The attendance was reported as 323, including around 15 following Hungerford, another record low league attendance with Harry Agombar not on the teamsheet at all after two games in the past week.

Chairman Andy Lonsdale watched the game but there was no sign of Tommy Agombar, nor either of the two directors.

Hereford United Starting XI: Williams, Onyeike, Mahony, O’Neill, Gascogne, Gordon, Roberts, Bobes-Gilroy, Akinde, Yafai, Traore.

Subs: Barrientos, Fortnam-Tomlinson, Hawker, Oyibo, Jivanda.

Mahony Recalled From Westfields Loan

Westfields have reported that Hereford United have recalled defender Paul Mahony from his loan at allpay.park.

The full back barely got a game while with the Midlands Football League side, whereas strikers Nathaniel Lewars and Dequon Eubanks are both named in today's matchday squad.

Several fans have noted that, on this day in 2008, 781 Bulls fans travelled to Elland Road for a League One game against Leeds United in front of over 25,000 fans. Less than half that away attendance saw Hereford United's last home League game.

Walking Football In Herefordshire

The HFA are pleased to announce the introduction of Walking Football in Herefordshire.

Walking Football was initially designed to help get the over 50s back into football and exercise. The main differences between standard football are the two rules of no running and no slide tackles.

Play the game you love but reduce the chances of injury. It's a great way to keep fit, learn skills, have fun and socialise all at the same time!

If you think your footballing days are over then think again!

So, if you used to play football but now find the pace a bit too much or if you’ve never had the chance to be involved before, walking football is the perfect introduction to playing football for people aged 50 years and over, no age limit!

All the rules are the same but with one big difference, you can only walk – no running, no sprinting, just walking. Any infractions are penalised by a free kick.

Deep down, are you still dying to play?

•             A popular means of keeping fit, learning new skills, having fun and socializing!
•             Never too old to play! Non-contact sport!
•             The social aspect of the session as important as the game itself.

Morrison-Derbyshire Joins Maidenhead

Former Hereford United captain Luis Morrison-Derbyshire has joined Conf South Maidenhead United.

The 20 year old defender left Edgar Street by mutual consent about three weeks ago after rumours of a falling out with manager Jon Taylor. He moves to his new side a day after they signed striker DJ Campbell.

The 32 year old former Leicester and Blackpool man left Blackburn in the summer after being caught up in match fixing allegations last December over a yellow card he received in a match that month, with Police dropping their interest in him only in August.

Maidenhead are managed by Johnson Hippolyte, who discovered Campbell and signed him to two of his teams before he hit the big time ten years ago.

Tyler Weir One Of Three Legends To Debut For Fans Team

Former Bulls full back Tyler Weir will debut for the HUST Fans Team when they take on the Walsall Legends side on Sunday October 5th at Pegasus Juniors' Old School Lane ground.

Weir, who has earned a reputation for some spectacular goals during his time with Worcester, will be joined by Cory Williams and Matt Gardiner in debuting for the Fans Team.

Gardiner played in the Malvern match for the Worcester City XI, but dons the white shirt for the first time. Scott Goodwin returns having also played in the Malvern game for the Fans Team.

The game kicks off at 2pm, with admission £2 for Adults and £1 for kids.

HUST will have their membership table in the bar for the game, with renewals and new memberships being taken on the day.

31 Players Used In 12 Games

Hereford United have named a total of 31 players for their 12 games so far this season.

Midfielder Jake Hall became the 31st player to be used when he turned out in Tuesday's loss to Cinderford. Former Dagenham trainee Hall only joined previous club Billericay a month ago but left after three weeks and one start for the Ryman Premier side.

The total includes two loan players, Delroy Gordon and Harry Agombar, and the dual registration appearance by Leroy Griffiths. It remains unclear quite how many of the other 28 players are still with the club.

Only two have officially left, though several others have not appeared on the team sheets for several weeks. The official site still only lists 11 players, and is unlikely to be updated with Laura Phelps having now left.

Proposal To Strike Off HUFC 1939 Company

Companies House lists that there are proposals to strike off both the 1939 and 1982 Hereford United companies from the list at Companies House.

The proposals are likely to be due to their last returns to Companies House being more than two months overdue - having both been due on July 3rd.

The 1982 company has also seen another Director resign, with Nick Nenadich resigning his role on September 19th - leaving both David Keyte and Grenville Smith as Directors of the company.

Meanwhile, Herefordshire Council say that the Fire Service have found no evidence of the club again having players sleeping in the bars. The suggestion had again been raised after it was confirmed that the players had left accommodation at the RNC.

Salisbury "Owner" Admits He Has No Money

Salisbury's Moroccan "owner" has told a Court he has no money.

Medi Outail Touzer attempted to overturn the club's Administration order in the High Court but ended up with a £1,700 bill for the hearing - and admitted he could not afford to pay it.

Touzer, who had claimed wealth and investors backing him, told the Court he had no means to pay the bill after being told he had no right of appeal and had to settle the sum in 14 days or face potential bankruptcy.

It has also been revealed that Touzer has also not paid the £1200 bill for an earlier appeal to the FA.

Meanwhile, Nuneaton's new owner has laid out a five year plan to fans. Lee Thorne expects the club to go full time and win promotion to the Football League within five years after taking a majority stake in the club during the summer.

Thorne told a press conference that gates had fallen since Coventry's return to the Ricoh Arena saw many boycotting fans return to the Sky Blues, leaving the club with less than 700 home fans for their last games.

Youth Team Away To Bilston In FA Youth Cup

Rob Purdie's Youth Team will face Bilston Town in the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Youth Cup.

Bilston beat Nuneaton Griff 6-0 last night to progress. The tie is scheduled to take place in the week of Monday, October 6th with the date to be confirmed.

"The Only Unbeaten Manager In Conf North"

Rob Purdie has spoken to the Tamworth Herald about his brief time in caretaker charge at the Lambs:

"I never ever wanted to be a manager but I started to coach a youth team in Hereford and that gave me a bit of a taste for it. Then I was given this opportunity and I really enjoyed it.

"It has only been enjoyable because the lads have been supportive. Had we had a faction of say four or five players who didn't like what was going on, it would have been difficult and not enjoyable. But the team spirit here is fantastic and that made it a happy role for me to do."

The 31 year old continues as a player for the Lambs with their FA Cup campaign starting on Saturday with a match against Rushall Olympic, who feature ex-Bull Tony Capaldi in their ranks after he left the Lambs in the summer.
