Edgar Street Lease Details

Hereford United's future is uncertain given a proposed CVA was rejected by the creditors last Thursday.

Should the club go into liquidation then the leases will return to the Herefordshire Council.

However there could be another attempt by the majority owners and/or the directors of the club to propose a further CVA or some other arrangement before September 1st when the club are next due in the High Court.

There is little doubt that the majority owners are hopeful of holding onto the leases and will probably do all they can to prevent the Council getting them back.

In February the Council released the following details about the main lease. The document is too long to reproduce on BN but here is the link:

Meanwhile the result of a recent FOI request to Herefordshire Council has been made public.

I want to see minutes where leases on Edgar Street were discussed, whether any conflicts of interest regarding leases were declared by serving Councillors, and whether any Councillors involved in lease negotiations were offered hospitality by Directors of Hereford 1939 United in the last two years

Answer from the Council:

I am advised that the no minutes were taken at any meetings held to discuss the leases on Edgar Street.

No Councillors involved in these discussions declared any conflict of interest and we have no record of any Councillor being offered hospitality by Directors of Hereford 1939 United during the last two years.
