Bulls Advent Calendar - No.23

Number twenty three on the Bulls Advent Calendar are the Rodgersons.

Father Alan started his career with Potters Bar, before joining Middlesborough in 1956. He debuted as an inside forward for them two years later, playing in a team alongside Brian Clough and his future managerial partner Peter Taylor.

After a brief time with Cambridge, Alan joined the Bulls for the first of two spells. In the second, he was part of the side that almost made Wembley in the FA Trophy in the 1970/1 season.

Son Ian debuted for the Bulls as a 19 year old in 1985, before moves to Cardiff, Birmingham, and Sunderland after two seasons as a regular at Edgar Street. Returning nine years later in 1997, he racked up five more seasons on the pitch before qualifying as a physio and returning to Birmingham to work with their Academy side.

He returned to Edgar Street a third time in the summer of 2011 to become the Bulls' physio, leaving this summer to work on his own practice. Alan remains a regular visitor to Edgar Street with a season ticket in the VP Club, with Ian an occasional guest when time allows.
