A Letter From Malaysia

Last week, like often done, I mentioned the ongoing Portsmouth saga in one of the News Round-Ups. The piece was about a fans blogging site being taken to court by one of the consortium led by Keith Harris that was being shunned by the Football League.

I was a little surprised to receive an email from the litigant, Pascal Najadi, containing what was a press release (left) announcing that he was not only taking the site, fansnetwork.co.uk, to court but that he was also launching action against the blogger himself, Micah Hall.

The email originated, according to the IP address contained within, in Kuala Lumpur where Mr Najadi has an office, rather than directly from lawyers Mishcon De Reya, and from what is apparently his personal email address.

I expected that a variety of bloggers had received the same message, maybe a warning shot towards the blogging community, it turns out that I was the only one. No-one is quite sure why.

Micah Hall has vowed to defend himself against the action by Mr Najadi, saying he stands by the original article, and Portsmouth fans have started up a fighting fund to help with the cost. There is more on the incident on the twohundredpercent site, while the SOS Pompey campaign is taking donations to their Paypal address. A petition is also underway here

Meanwhile - a hello to Mr Najadi, our new regular visitor from Malaysia. Over the weekend the country has burst into the Top 10 of countries by visitor according to the Bulls News site stats, and has racked up several additional visits since.

If you are interested in buying a football club, Mr Najadi, Hereford United would be interested in your sizable wealth. But, please remember, we have no discerneble assets or land, and you should expect zero return for your money. Bar, maybe, a warm fuzzy feeling that you're doing some good.
