Plymouth picked up their first win of the season, beating Macclesfield 2-0, to move within two points of safety. Barnet's nosedive continues with a 4-0 loss at Swindon, leaving them on nine points with an increasingly worse goal difference. Dagenham are next, a point further up, after losing 2-1 to Northampton, a result that moves the Cobblers up to 12 points.

At the top Morecambe lost 3-2 at home to Bristol Rovers to retain the lead by goal difference only from Shrewsbury, who beat Torquay 2-0 at home.
