News Round-Up

Bradford are trialling former Leeds forward Tom Elliot, and midfielders Paddy Lacey (Sheff Weds), Scott Brown (Clydebank), and Steve Arau (Wolfsburg). Accrington defender Phil Edwards has turned down a new deal with the club to sign for Stevenage. The 25 year old will move on a free transfer after over 200 games for Stanley.

The Football League have elected Leeds' Shaun Harvey and Carlisle's John Nixon to their board. Barnet's Tony Kleanthous remains as the only League Two representative on the eight man board, with two from League One and three from the Championship. Gillingham assistant boss Ian Hendon has defended his club's pre-season planning after the Gills announced 14 friendlies over the next six weeks.

Former Shrewsbury loanee defender Mat Sadler is reported to have rejected a permanent move to the Shrews in favour of Dean Smith's Walsall, signing a one year deal. Kettering say they have agreed terms on a lease on Rushden's Nene Park ground. They plan to play a handful of first team games at their current Rockingham Road base until the lease runs out in two years, but it will mostly be used for reserve and youth matches.

Southend have switched five home matches to Friday nights, including both Cheltenham's and Shrewsbury's trips to Roots Hall. The Bulls had a Friday trip to Essex last season. For their return to the Conference, Lincoln will charge £2 more than the Bulls for matchday entry. Earlybird prices will match the Bulls with Season Ticket prices also more expensive.

AFC Wimbledon have signed striker Charles Ademeno. The 22 year old had an injury-plagued time at Grimsby and has signed a contract 'that reflects his recent injury record'. Also joining the Wombles is former Brentford youngster Chris Bush, who spent time on loan at Kingsmeadow last term. Bristol Rovers have named Carl Emberson as their new goalkeeper coach and are expected to sign former Gillingham keeper Lance Cronin to be their new no.2 stopper. Their move for striker Jamie Cureton is in jeopardy after Cureton told the press he wanted a move to Colchester.
