News Round Up

Aldershot are to abandon their two-tier board system. They introduced the system, with seperate boards for financial and operational matters, last season after a financial review of the club but the experiment has apparently failed. The club have set a deadline of November 4th for applications for their new manager. Torquay are to sign 20 year old Southampton midfielder Jake Thomson on a months loan.

Grimsby are understood to have bagged a £100,000 fee for selling 15 year old striker Jack Barlow to Hull. Crewe have had loan keeper David Button recalled by Spurs for a second time. They may not seek his return after Dario Gradi criticised him last week. Sol Campbell has accused Notts County of demanding £100,000 to release his registration. Campbell has told EPSN that the Magpies keep moving the goalposts even after he had written confirmation that he would be released.

Northwich will hope the prospect of a bumper pay day from their FA Cup tie with Charlton will resolve their future. They are still unable to agree a CVA deal with the taxman, and the Conference have now stopped them signing new players due to the ongoing wrangle in addition to the FA witholding FA Cup prize money due to their situation.

Some ex-Bulls in this week's Teams Of The Week. Paul Parry makes the Championship side for his goalscoring performance for Preston, while Steve Guinan gets the nod in League Two for Northampton. Burton have shown an interest in taking transfer listed Crewe striker Anthony Elding on loan. Accrington have lost the services of loan keeper Alan Martin after Leeds recalled him when their own loan keeper was called back to Blackburn.
