Saints report praises Bulls

The match report from the official Southampton website on this evening's friendly at Edgar Street has several words of praise for Hereford United and in particular their defence.

'A resolute Hereford defence.'

'Saints were finding themselves up against a brick wall in the form of the Hereford defence as every attempt they made on goal was blocked.'

For the Bulls the back four of Beckwith, who should be made captain, Oji, Rose and Threlfall with Randolph in goal all had a good game. Diagouraga and trialist Langley looked a potentially useful combination in mid-field but it's up-front where the Bulls may still need to add to the squad.

Although trialist Ashley-Paul Robinson was only given a few minutes on the pitch this evening, it will be surprising if Graham Turner doesn't consider offering him a contract. This youngster has something about him with an excellent first touch.

Meanwhile the sponsors of this evening's match gave the man of the match award to winger Matty Done.
