News Round Up

Ex-Bull Phil Robinson is assisting Keith Downing at Cheltenham after usual assistant Bob Bloomer suffered achilles damage playing in the Masters tournament. Robinson, who succeeded Downing as coach at Edgar Street, has been out of work since leaving Stafford. Another former Bull, Gareth Sheldon, has signed a new one year deal at Tamworth after being voted their player of the year last season.

Halifax boss Chris Wilder has quit the club, and is expected to be installed as Bury's new assistant boss later today. The reformed Halifax club has been accepted into the Unibond League and will confirm it's name shortly, with the Administrators still trying to sell off the assets of the old club - including the Halifax Town name. Brighton have signed defender Adam Virgo on a free transfer three years after selling him to Celtic for £1.5million.

Crewe have taken forward Eddie Johnson on trial after his release from Bradford, turning down a two year deal at Chester in the process. Peterboro boss Darren Ferguson has announced his retirement from playing the game. The Posh have also announced squad numbers for their 26 contracted players, of which five are on the transfer list.

Scunthorpe will not be continuing their interest in Cheltenham's Steven Gillespie after being quoted a £500,000 asking price. Brighton have named a local IT firm as their new sponsors after Skint Records pulled out after nine years.
