Former Macclesfield chairman Eddie Furlong has been banned from running a football club by the FA. The ban follows charges last year related to the diversion of money over grants to build a new stand at the club.

Lincoln have signed veteran Scunthorpe striker Steve Torpey. The 36 year old has agreed a one year deal after spending most of last season playing second fiddle to prolific pair Billy Sharp and Andy Keogh. The club have also cancelled the contract of defender Paul Morgan by mutual consent with 12 months remaining. The club captain spent six years at the club.

Chester are set to sign winger Kevin Ellison from Tranmere after having a third bid accepted. The 28 year old is currently negotiating personal terms. Scarboro fans have named their new trust-owned club Scarboro Athletic, and will play in Bridlington for the coming season.
